How I Organize My Own Business Cards

As I’ve mentioned before, people always ask me about the state of my own office.  I have two of these Container Store business card boxes.  This week I added 3 cards and threw out 23.  This, my friends, is the only way to keep the cards under control.  There is no way around it.

Some of my categories are Clients, Wellness, Design & Furniture, and Friends.  I’ve loosely designated the other two unmarked spaces for people I’ve personally met and people I haven’t met.  The second box holds business cards from various networking events I regularly attend, sorted by organization.  One of my clients now uses two of these boxes: one for sales contacts organized by country, and the other box is for all other contacts.

Yes, its’ true that I’ll likely never EVER refer to and of these business cards.  Anyone of immediate importance or who needs to be tagged for a follow-up is of course entered into my CRM system.  For all of those other folks of random interest that I just can’t part with, they go here.

Order your own box by clicking here.

You’re just $7 away from upgrading those wadded stashes of business cards to a system that begs to be used.  Run, do not walk, to your nearest Container Store and get your lil’ box this week!
