The movie Nostalgia asks If your house were burning, what would you take?

The film Nostalgia playing in theaters now tells the story of its characters, both dead and alive, via their cherished objects.  Actress Ellen Burstyn said in this 7 minute NPR interview

"We invest things with value - the value in our minds….It’s a choice as to wether or not we want to continue that.”

Record scratch. Is she implying that just because something has been saved and loved for ages, we don’t have to save and love it forever…? She might have a point.
