A Brilliant Way to Recycle Old Paper Maps

Eleven years ago I helped a woman clean out her basement. From this treasure chest of a room I brought home two things: vintage Bon Apetit magazine covers for a decoupage project and a stack of old maps, mostly AAA.  This Christmas I used the last of her maps to wrap gifts, as I had done with all the rest.  As I was doing it, I told my husband about how long it took me to wrap my way through these maps, and that I wanted another stack of old maps to come into my life.  Only two days later, my client let go of over a dozen maps, and they landed in my gift wrap pile!  It’s not the only way I wrap gifts, but is certainly fun, beautiful, and eco-friendly.  Do you have maps in the garage, basement, or junk drawer that you can turn into gift wrap? Please share in the comments!
