Paper person? Do this now to your files.

If you're not a "paper person," you might be surprised to know how many people in these modern times still receive statements and hold on to paper for various reasons. In the case of the photo here, my client is 90, but I've created systems just like this for people in their 20s. Sometimes, it's actually a crucial step in a journey towards digitizing more.

If this is you, then *now* is the time to create your 2022 files!  Don't wait until later, when doing it now takes 10 minutes. I did this three times in the last week with clients. Take this as a lesson too to date your folders as much as possible. It may seem obvious now that the folder labeled "Paid Bills" is for the current year, but without a date it's a slippery slope to  discovering a fat folder 10 years from now that you will dread sorting.

If you're still a paper person, that's ok. You do you and don't let anyone pressure you to "just scan it all" or "go paperless already" if that means everything will be lost to you. I personally prefer paperless, but love creating functional systems for people who aren't like me. 😀 Do you need a set of dated folders like this? Do you still receive monthly statements and bills that you keep? Please share in the comments.

I always love the responses I get to my year-end posts. This year's was 9 Things I Learned About Organizing in 2021. The thing learned that resonated the most with my readers was #8. #1 was my own personal favorite a-ha moment. If you haven't read it yet, read the post here!

Some of you local Montgomery County, MD folks know that my sister owns The Still Point Spa in Takoma Park. Last week she opened The Green Rooster food truck in their parking lot at 6 Grant Ave.! They have a seasonal menu of ultra nourishing, ultra delicious food and drinks. If I could walk there I would eat there daily, and feel much healthier for it. Swing by for a "Kacy's Famous Chai." Read all about the opening here, and check their Instagram for menus.
