A person who has an affinity for information on paper is more likely than most to have an affinity for real CDs.  We all know that there are countless ways to stream music online, but my clients are good at poking holes in all of them.  

Am I the last to learn that the Container Store has a custom drawer divider planner in each store? Kansas City Professional Organizer Lauren Weldon recently shared on her Instagram the Container Store’s drawer planner where you can measure out your drawer’s dimensions, dropping in various options to visualize your layout to a T.  

Backs of doors are often underutilized real estate.  One of my favorite ways to use this space is by using The Container Store’s elfa system.  Here’s an example of how I used it in a client’s utility closet. First off, I’ve met so many people who swear by their Franklin Covey planners.  This is NOT a criticism of the Covey planner.  I repeat, this is not a criticism of the Covey planner.  In fact, for many of my clients, hard copy lists and planners are the answer, and I actually dissuade them from attempting many digital solutions.  

In a magnificently stuffed antique shop in Royal Oak, Maryland (Eastern Shore) last week I was reminded of how much I love vintage office supplies.  They combine my love of all things patina, quality, age, and good design with office organizing. I gasped when amongst the thousands of odd and beautiful objects, a vintage brass letter sorter jumped into my arms.

The only thing that feels better than recycling is getting paid to do it. A reader shared with me a great resource for selling your unused printer cartridges.  One hook: they must be unopened in the box.  I see a lot of these in offices where my client has recently (or not so recently) bought a new printer and the old cartridges are incompatible.
