2023 was my 22nd year as a Professional Organizer and this is my 12th year-end post! 22 years in, I'm still learning so much - more than I can ever collect here with these annual round-ups. 20 years into my organizing career, I'm still learning new things. (2021 marked my 20 year anniversary as a Professional Organizer!) I always make it a point to not recycle lessons learned, and this year was no exception. To be honest, I only outlined this a couple of weeks ago. This means a LOT more was learned, but I scrambled at the last minute and most lessons remembered came later in the year. In 2022 I'd like to create these lists more often, triggering me to reflect as I go.

2019 marks my eighteenth year as a professional organizer and the eighth year in a row that I’ve reflected on what I learned as a professional organizer in the past year. I am sure to never repeat a lesson from a previous year.

It’s increasingly strange for me to answer the question “How long have you been an organizer?” 17 years in, I’m still learning so much about organizing, human nature, motivation, happiness, and more with each passing year. Sometimes in the moment I know that a certain realization or exchange with a client will be something I'll share here, and other times, it’s not until months later that I jot down the revelation as its significance hits me.
