Would this office make you smile?
Would this office make you smile? Probably not. That’s why you are great at what you do and I am great at what I do. My new client, Chef Tony Marciante of Chef Tony's in Bethesda, MD captured me beaming amidst his project at hand this week.
But do people really stay organized after you’re gone?
It’s not so much prospective clients who ask me this, but often when I explain what I do for a living to someone, they ask:
"But do people really stay organized after you're gone?”
My honest answer is always along the lines of:
What I’ve been organizing lately - mail and magazines!
This could not be a more typical scene out of my workday. I’ve spent countless hours of my adult life standing in this exact scene, and oddly never tire of it. L.A. has always been at the top of my list of American cities to visit, which is why I was thrilled when the stars aligned for me to work with a lovely woman in Northridge, CA in early November. I spent three days exploring one of my new favorite cities and three and a half days organizing one of its home offices in need.
(A Real) Portrait of a Professional Organizer
Last week I was so in my element buried under paper that I asked my client to capture the moment. This snapshot could not be a more accurate representation of what my work looks like! You’re looking at bank statements and explanations of benefits that date back to the 1980s.
