A client recently reminded me about Catalog Choice. As we were sorting kitchen papers, she came across a catalog she no longer wished to receive. She simply walked over to her computer, logged into their site, and entered a code she found on the mailing label. Done. 

File this under “How did I not know this existed?” This past week a client of mine showed me where he keeps 2 very important record books for his business. The data is also recorded digitally, but since he’s been generating project numbers by hand since the early days of his company, there’s a lot of nostalgia on those pages.

I LOVE a gift card and use them up pretty quickly (which is why it baffles me as to why I find so many unused gift cards in my work as an Organizer.)  I knew you could mail them in to cardpool.com, but only just learned that Cardpool also accepts cards at thousands of Gift Card Exchange kiosks & cashier-assisted locations formerly owned by Coinstar.

Last year my accountant recommended I start using a mileage tracker app on my iPhone to keep accurate records of how much I was using my car for client work.  Since August I’ve been using MileIQ.  It came in extremely handy when sitting down with her to work on 2017’s taxes.

Heirlooms and anything of sentimental value seem to stump us. They hold great personal value, but sometimes the most important ones are collecting dust in a crammed box. I find them in places anywhere from behind glass in the etagere, stashed in the basement by the boxful, or unprotected or damaged by the time we find them in the oddest places.

Speaking of art, this pushpin world map by Conquest Maps would be a stunner on any office wall.  Most of my clients are Washingtonians who have seen so much of the world, for work or play.  Just yesterday I was adding travel memories to my client’s overflowing “Trips Taken” box.
