[video] How to fake an office closet if short on storage
I’d rather spend hours sorting and tossing than strolling the pretty aisles of the Container Store. Simply putting things in boxes is rarely the answer, but sometimes a good workhorse of a product opens up a world - or wall - of possibility. This was the case when we corralled my client’s scattered collection of The Container Store’s Like-It Modular Drawers to effectively create a supply closet in an office that was in dire need of one.
Why a 2nd desk won’t solve your problems
My client and I are so close to taking a gorgeous “after” shot of this office - we started in 2013! No it hasn’t technically taken us this long to do the job. We worked for about 20 hours back then, and largely fixed the systemic “behind the scenes” problems, and even cleared the entire extra table and most of the desk.
What I’ve been organizing lately - receipts, receipts, and receipts

What it’s like to have me fly in to work with you.
Like nearly all of my clients I’ve flown to, Monica found me through a YouTube video. She’s not even sure she spent any time on my site before filling out the assessment and setting up a call. We worked together in April for 3 extremely productive days. We made incredible headway in clearing her kitchen and home office of paper.
Things I’ve been organizing lately: The paper-stuffed backpack that kept her up at night
A couple of weeks ago I was poignantly reminded of how organizing is never about the “stuff.” A client from two years previous called with a new, urgent project. Since we had worked together, her husband had been placed into hospice care at home.
What I’ve been organizing lately: “Chronic” file folders
Do you have “chronic” file folders? If you’re like most of my clients, you do.
Last week I was working with a client who I hadn’t seen in a year. In revisiting a step rack full of folders that we evaluate year after year, she realized that they were all empty!
